The tag parser and writer are hand-rolled and run entirely in your browser: reading is a few binary operations on the file you already have, and writing swaps the tag block while copying your audio bytes verbatim. Non-ASCII names (Cyrillic, Japanese, accents) are stored as UTF-8, so they display correctly in every modern player.
